Lefties, Southpaws, Weirdos, Geniuses....what up??

Im a lefty, never really think about it - unless I am writing with a sharpie or some other slow drying writing device and the result is the smearing of already poor handwriting and a hand covered in ink.  Grr its annoying!  Well, this is my first post for this blog and I have already digressed as I am sure to do again and again.  I am no scientist but I believe lefties are notorious for conversational digressions (and making up words to sound smart).    I refer to "scientist" here of course as a cliche but also to highlight my general concept of this blog.  (disclaimer: anything i say is an opinion)...In my experience science has not made very significant strides in bringing awareness to the public of the left handed experience.  I have grown a little tired of scouring Google for "left handed, southpaw, handed left, 'handed' +not right +left, etc".  While I am more than grateful to have access to so much information I still feel there is much to be desired.  My lefty friends are strange, quirky individuals like myself and I bring up their handedness and the response is either blank stares or laughter depending on to amount of alcohol consumed should the topic arise.
Yea, that as kind of another rambling digression so let me try this again.  First, studies show that the characteristics exhibited commonly among lefties (impulsiveness, non-linear thought process, creativity) is really the result of being "right-brained."  I believe 90% of the population is "left-brained" and it is that side of the brain responsible for organization, logic and what not.  While handedness is a good indicator of which hemisphere of the brain is dominant it is not the single deciding factor.  A dominant left ear I believe can be an indicator, heck I think you can just be right brained just cause.  The bottom line is I have picked up these pieces of information since this became an interesting subject so everything I have said is just from memory, I promise and I encourage everyone to give credit to sources.  A professor of mine would ask on the first day of a course as we reviewed requirements and what not, "is it okay to copy in this class?"  Of course everyone, kissing ass (well me too) responded with oh no absolutely not.  Then my professor would respond "Not only is it okay but it is a requirement.  however, you have to admit you copied and from whom you copied."  Geez another digression...okay here goes fellow ten percenters who hate using scissors but love to say the "president is left handed" please share share share.  Scientists or other researchers and scholars I would love to have your input, and everyone else.  We do not discriminate against you rigid step by step thinking righties - your thoughts more than welcome.  Hopefully we can all learn a little something of the most overlooked, mysterious and interesting minority in the world (isnt that something were the minority no matter where we go) and maybe take over the world...muhahaha nah that would be a disaster...
